North Georgia's Premier Family Reunion Venue

You’ve been searching and searching for the perfect family reunion location and venue haven’t you? So many things to consider: budgets, travel, family feelings, who gets along with who, etc.

You're dealing with things like “Is there a bedroom on the main level?” “Are there too many stairs for Uncle Al?” It’s a tough job doing what you’re doing, and while your family may never thank you for all the hard work you’re putting in, we certainly know and we’re glad you found us!

Bison View Lodge is one of the Southeast's favorite  family reunion destinations. We are able to sleep up to 55 people and have three walkable, luxury lodges on 15 gated acres that border over 500 acres of US National Forest.  It is possible to host an additional 20 people by utilizing local hotels or other large cabins in the area and use Bison View Lodge as your family reunion hub.

Planning for all the needs of your family is easy here! Your loud brother in law who is the life of the party has a place, and your introverted aunt has a place she can go to feel special.

From the ultra starry skies & gentle mountain breezes, to the addicting quiet of the forest, your family will love it here! Tons of games and things to do on the property, and you're within 30 minutes of secret waterfalls, swimming spots, Helen, GA, and more. What are you waiting for? The mountains await your arrival!

  • What is the maximum wedding size?
Because of our residential septic systems, we have a hard cap at 50 people for overnight accommodations. The total guest list “day of wedding” has a cap of 75, including the wedding party. Most of our weddings are between 35-60 people.
  • What are your packages?
We strive for simple, transparent pricing. We simply require a 3 night minimum stay, whether you use all of the nights or not. You can download our pricing worksheet below that shows everything we provide.
  • Where do people typically get married on property?
The ceremony can take place indoors or out, but most of our wedding customers get married outdors. When indoors, the Helen Barn is the spot. If you’re marrying indoors, this space may need to be turned over into a reception space as we do not have a separate wedding chapel. There are several outdoor possibilities. The helipad in the middle of the property has forest, barn, and lodge views depending on seating placement. A covered pavilion/carport next to main lodge that seats up to 75 with views of Mount Yonah and the barn as a backdrop. Another popular location is in front of the lodge with views of Yonah as well.
  • Do you have required vendors?
We have required food and beverage caterers if you choose to use catering. Our caterers have been vetted for their food, customer service, attention to detail, and their treatment of the lodge. They do a fantastic job for our guests, and they leave the property in amazing condition and know where everything is located.
  • Where do we hold the reception?
The barn is where our guests hold their reception, either inside or out. It has seating and service for up to 75 people. It features a large kitchen, commercial smoker, and a very cool tiki bar. For those that want an outdoor reception, the area in front of the barn as well as the side porches of the barn make a very scenic spot.
  • Do you provide tables and chairs?
We provide up to 75 white outdoor ceremony chairs, which you can see here. We also have 8 round 60″ tables and chairs as well as a rectangular table. We provide table linens in black or white. All of this is included in your price.
  • Can we shoot off fireworks on the property?
Since we are next to the forest, and 3 miles up a gravel road, Bison View Lodge prohibits fireworks being discharged on site in order to lower the risk of fire. However, sparklers may be used with extreme caution.
